Days after the Indianapolis shooting story, Kotaku covered Instagram footage (Pokéstreetz) of a Costco Prismatic Evolutions restock where about 30–40 people created chaos — boxes on the ground, drinks thrown, a cart of product hit by coffee then a car, and a police chase of a driver — after someone allegedly tried to fill a cart. The video date was April 11 per Kotaku. Kotaku noted Costcos receiving large Prismatic shipments while many independents still struggled for allocation, and linked Prismatic’s January 2025 launch as a scalping inflection point. IGN also covered the violence-marred release.
