The Pokémon Card Game official JP site announced it is introducing My Number Card–based identity verification so that some Pokémon Center Online product lotteries and sales, and some domestic official tournament applications, can be limited to verified residents. Auth is via smartphone NFC and an external service linked to the Players Club; the company states it will not collect or store the My Number personal number itself. PokeBeach explained the practical effect: overseas collectors generally locked out of those PC Online TCG drops. Details (exact start, SKUs, age rules) were still TBD at announcement time; My Number issuance can take 1–2 months. The official notice targets a start around August 2026.
