Prismatic Evolutions: named LGS says distributor allocations crushed preorders
· Pokémon TCG — distributor allotment / LGS vs big-box supply
PokeBeach reported that despite TPCi printing a “similar amount” of Prismatic Evolutions as prior holiday sets, many local stores limited or canceled customer preorders. Owner Ben DeGuire (Player 1 Services, Maryland) told PokeBeach distributors were spreading scarce supply across many new Pokémon-ordering accounts (bookstores, tabletop shops, TCG-adjacent stores), so even loyal Pokémon LGS received a “higher percentage” that still translated to tiny absolute units (example framing: request 100 ETBs → allowed to buy ~15). DeGuire said newer stores that took preorders before knowing allocation often had to cancel. Piece said Target, Walmart, and Best Buy appeared to receive “typical” allotments. PokeBeach’s own polling line: average U.S. store receiving less than ~10–15% of what it requested.
