Chaos Rising street May 22 — sealed leadership flips
The Pokémon Company International / Gamespress · Source
Chaos Rising street date hit May 22. By this Monday the sealed tape had already rewritten the May leadership board: Chaos Rising booster boxes took the sealed #1 slot, while Ascended Heroes packs kept printing enormous quantity underneath. Launch week is when “new set on the shelf” separates from “new set that actually cleared.”
How the market was
English Chaos Rising went live on May 22, so this edition is the first Monday with a real post-street book — not the presale GMV trail from Issues 07 and 08. Boxes led. May average for Chaos Rising booster boxes printed around $245.59, enough to sit at sealed #1 for the month’s tape. That is launch premium with depth behind it, not a single loud ask.
Elite Trainer Boxes told a softer early story. Standard CR ETBs opened near ~$90 and quickly worked into a ~$72–$88 early band. That split matters: boxes carried the sealed leadership print; ETBs looked like the product people were willing to rip first. We are not blending Pokémon Center exclusive ETB prints into this Monday — those clears get cleaner later in June, and forcing them here would smear the standard book.
Ascended Heroes did not disappear. Packs still averaged about ~$13.51 with quantity still #1 in that stack. The read is rotation of leadership, not a wipe of the prior special-set money. Collectors and market watchers who only watched “what’s #1” missed that ASC volume was still doing real work while CR boxes took the sealed crown.
Week over week vs Issue 08 (May 18), the story flipped from “presale rotation toward Chaos Rising while Ascended Heroes still led set GMV” to “live sealed, CR boxes on top.” That is the cleanest launch-week signal we get all spring: street date, then a measurable sealed handoff within days — without needing anniversary chatter or a thin singles spike to carry the headline.
The launch tape is enough this week unless a verified clear shows up in another game.

Week movers
- Pokémon — Chaos Rising booster box — May avg ~$245.59; sealed #1. Confidence high.
- Pokémon — Chaos Rising ETB (standard) — Early ~$90, then ~$72–$88. Confidence high. PC exclusive omitted this Monday.
- Pokémon — Ascended Heroes packs — Avg ~$13.51, quantity still #1. Confidence high.
- Our read — New-set BB takes sealed #1 from the ASC / Prismatic stack; ASC quantity does not vanish with the leadership flip.
Week over week
vs Issue 08 (Rotation toward Chaos Rising): Presale → live. CR leaves the GMV-on-presales footnote and posts a real sealed #1 box print. ASC remains the quantity workhorse in packs even as sealed leadership flips.
Worth watching
- Chaos Rising booster box
- Chaos Rising ETB (standard) — keep exclusive asks separate
- Ascended Heroes packs / sealed still in the stack
Note
“Sealed #1” and “qty #1” mean market leadership from that week’s sealed tape — not a TCG Pulse product ranking. Pokémon Center Chaos Rising ETB dollars wait for the late-June clearer band (~$165 in later packs).
