No broad “modern mass cool” crash showed up this Monday. Mid-era bids stayed the stronger mover story, while Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Boxes and Chaos Rising booster boxes held elevated. Selective cool beats a blanket headline.

How the market was

Late June invited a simple story: modern product cools, everything softens together. The comps preferred a sharper cut. Mid-era chase remained the stronger mover narrative — with Rayquaza-class prints still in the conversation around the ~$945 neighborhood from the earlier thin-book window, and Moonbreon-class strength cited from April 28 trends context near ~$2,028 as the mid-era bid backdrop, not a fresh June 22 sole print. Confidence is high on mid-era as the mover story; any “modern mass cool” line stays light editorial only.

Special-set and new-set sealed did not collapse under that story either. Ascended Heroes ETBs still printed about ~$165–$181. Chaos Rising booster boxes for June 19–24 still sat near ~$235 — the same premium summer neighborhood we have tracked since the post-launch soften. That is hold on sealed while mid-era singles carry the selective heat.

Our read: prefer bifurcation — special-set / mid-era money vs softer mass product — over a mass-cool headline. Collectors who only watch “modern is done” miss that ASC ETBs and CR boxes were still clearing elevated while the interesting singles tape stayed mid-era.

Week over week vs Issue 12: reprint chatter was last week’s narrative layer. This week the tape says there was no broad modern crash; mid-era remains the stronger mover story.

Note

Moonbreon ~$2,028 is Apr 28 trends context for mid-era bid strength — labeled as such, not invented as a Jun 22 sole clear. No Celebration set.
